Dental implants procedures in Rolling Hills Estates, California

Missing a single tooth, but every other tooth in the mouth is healthy?  Dental implants are perhaps the closest alternative to your natural teeth.  An implant restoration consists of two to three parts, the screw, the abutment and the crown (see diagram).  As it is important for your natural teeth to have healthy gum and bone, a dental implant has the same requirements.  Evaluation of the potential implant site is often done with a 3D  radiograph (CBCT) to determine whether you are a good candidate for this option.

The implant is first placed into the jaw where it is integrated into the surrounding bone.  This process can take anywhere between 3 and 6 months.  Once the implant screw is fully integrated into the jaw, the head of the implant is typically uncovered, and a healing cap is placed to help manage the tissue.  A final impression or digital scan is then taken and sent to a lab for fabrication of your brand new tooth.
